Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek - 7 Days

The Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek is one of the best trek in the world which presents the trekkers to witness the natural beauty as well as all mouth watering peaks of the Annapurna. The Annapurna Base camp is situated in the glacier moraine within the towering peaks seen from Pokhara. This Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is designed for those adventure seekers who want to explore the scenic beauty of staggeringly charismatic peaks of Annapurna as well as variety of flora and fauna of this region within their limited time.

Our remarkable 7 days Annapurna Base Camp begins with a short and scenic 25 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and on the vary day trekkers are driven to Phedi about 1 hour 30 minutes north of Pokhara.

A scenic short 25 min Mountain flight brings you to Pokhara and drive north of the lake city leads to Phedi (trail foot); from where the Annapurna Base Camp Trekking trail ascends through the ridge with breathtaking view of Annapurna range to Pothana. A visit to hot spring next to the glacial river is one of the major highlight of the trip next to the rushing blue-white waters carry snow melt from the Annapurna South Glacier. The steep sides are covered in lush forests of rhododendron, oak and pine. Numerous villages perch on ridge tops surrounded by ancient terraced fields.

The good trail is often neatly stepped; as far as the prosperous village of Chhomrong. Beyond, it rises more steeply towards Deorali at (3,200m/10,500ft). From here it is wise to climb slowly as the altitude increases rapidly to the U shaped entrance to the sacred Annapurna Sanctuary.

First is the Machhapuchhare Base Camp, some two stiff hours before ABC (4,130m/13,550ft). But the sheer drama of the entrance to this gigantic basin eases the walk as the ice peaks begin to surround you. Cloud frequently obscures views from 10am, but evening and sunrise offer stupendous photographic opportunities.
